'Ensuring justice to the victim is prime job of the police' -Chief Minister

jaipur, september 18 . chief minister shri ashok gehlot has called upon the state police force to ensure justice to victims against injustice, atrocities and victimization. he said that the state government would also make attempts to ensure that the esteem of the force remains high and the general public continue to have confidence in the police.

shri gehlot was addressing the police community at the inaugural function of the new police headquarters building at lalkothi in jaipur on wednesday. he said that the entire police force should pledge to perform their duties towards the country, state, society and the poor. "prosperity and peace prevails in the country when the law and order situation remains under control, and the police have very important role in making this possible," he said.

the chief minister said that with the changing times responsibilities of the policemen had increased, their numbers had also increased, still the crime graph was going up. "crime control ss the basic responsibility for which the central and the state governments have kept several provisions for police reforms, modernization of police force and reinforcement of the basic infrastructure of the department."

shri gehlot said that the state government took several decisions to maintain high morale of the state police force. "we have offered excellent packages for our police personnel which are being praised across the country."

union minister of state for finance shri namo narayan meena said that he was attending the inaugural function as a retired police officer. "i am happy with the measures taken by the state government for welfare of the police personnel including this new police headquarters building. police commissionerate system in jaipur and jodhpur is also a welcome step," he said.

minister of state for home shri virendra beniwal listed several welfare schemes and allowances declared for the state police personnel. he said that with the police headquarters shifting to the new building, the police force would perform better for maintenance of law and order in the state.

on this occasion member of parliament dr. mahesh joshi, chief secretary shri c.k. mathew, dgp shri harish chandra meena, additional chief secretary (home) shri ashok sampatram, several former dgps, senior police and administrative officers and other dignitaries were also present. additional dgp shri d.s. dinkar proposed vote of thanks.
